Training program for Mongolian hotel representatives
Ulaanbaatar, May 5, 2016: A leading company of South Korean MICE industry INTERCOM Convention Service Inc., successfully carried out one of the first ASEM training sessions for Mongolian hotel industry staff at Blue Sky Hotel during April 26-30, 2016. About 150 representatives of over 40 hotels from Ulaanbaatar and rural areas participated in the training named “CAPACITY BUILDING FOR CONVENTION MANAGEMENT MONGOLIA 2016. Drawing from its 30 years of arranging international events in South Korea including ASEM and ASEAN meetings, 7 lecturers and staff members of INTERCOM Convention Service Inc., provided valuable lessons on variety of topics including customer handling, house keeping, food and beverage end event organizing. The training was carried out with active participation of the attendees, engaging in various team and group works followed by Q&A sessions. Each participant was awarded with a special diploma for completing the 4-day course. Ministry of Environment and Tourism, KOICA International Cooperation Agency Mongolian office and Mongolian Hotel Associations facilitated the training program and a pioneer in Mongolian MICE industry, “MONGOLIAN CORPORATE TRAVEL” organized the entire training program from lecturers’ travel logistics to the provision of audio systems, catering and venue booking and decoration.
Mongolia is the host national for the upcoming 11 th ASEM summit to take place in Ulaanbaatar during July 15-16, 2016. The event is the largest gathering of foreign leaders in Mongolia to date and is seen as an important symbol of Mongolia’s active participation in the international community. Mongolia’s governing bodies have been preparing for the event and anticipate large foreign press focused on Mongolia which is seen also as an important opportunity to attract foreign investment in to the country.
